The MIX is based on the DATA SPLIT twin plate HIU however the central heating plate heat exchanger has been replaced with a manifold to allow direct connection to the heating circuit. This manifold enables the central heating temperature to be controlled, unlike most direct central heating HIU’s on the market.
A direct central heating HIU does not require the expansion vessel and safety relief valve normally fitted to the central heating circuit, plus there is no temperature loss across the plate heat exchanger, making direct heating HIU’s better value and more efficient than a standard twin plate HIU.
The MIX comes in an attractive EPP casing with remarkably low heat losses less than 50W. All pipework connections are bottom entry and the unit is supplied with a pre-plumbing rail as standard. A number of optional extras are available, as shown below.
