Seminar shines a light on real-time energy monitoring and management
A seminar showcasing how a ground-breaking, new real-time energy efficiency monitor can support the journey to net zero has been declared successful.
Guest speakers from the heat network industry and sustainability specialists discussed the importance of real-time data streams and new regulations coming into force at the event organised by energy experts Heatweb Solutions Ltd.
Heatweb also unveiled its new BEMS 2.3 monitoring system, created to bring transformative change to the industry with real-time monitoring solutions.
BEMS 2.3 provides precise energy readings to show customers exactly how energy efficient their network is, where there is room for improvement and how to stay ahead of issues with managed callouts, translating into substantial cost savings. Heatweb has already supported the National Trust and London Excel, among others, with their BEMS 2.3 technology.
Jason Lawrence, Managing Director of Heatweb, said: “We wanted to organise a seminar to showcase how heat networks have the potential to operate more efficiently, save energy and money, and support the journey to net zero based on real-time data.
“The big thing to come out of the seminar was the importance of this new technology. In the past, it has almost been guesswork when looking at data and potential efficiency savings in heat networks.
“We now have a real game-changer, and we were delighted with the response among those at the seminar.”
The well-attended event also explored the benefits of CO2 heat pumps in a heat network, including their environmental friendliness, viability and efficiency. It ended with a Q&A with the panel of experts.
Jason added: “The seminar was overwhelmingly positive. We felt there was a sense of relief in the room about the fact that we could show data in real-time; therefore, decisions could be made based on the data rather than guesswork.
“We had some really good feedback, and I think the key thing was how easy it was to use and what a difference it can make in the industry.
“There was also a lot of interest in our CO2 heat pump and the fact it can make substantial cost savings and provide data upfront.
“We were delighted with how well attended the event was and would like to thank all our guest speakers and everyone who supported the event.”
The external guest speakers were Martyn Farrelly, Business Development Director, Sycous; Ben Davies-Nash, District Energy and Project Engineer, Thameswey; Niki Sahabandu, PhD student, University College London; Dr Joanna Clarke, Design Manager, SPECIFIC Swansea University.
Heatweb Solutions Ltd was formed by Richard Hanson-Graville and Jason Lawrence, who have more than 50 years of combined experience in the energy efficiency industry.
