The Node-HIU Switch is used to connect HIUs to a Local Area Network (LAN) to provide remote connectivity, and implement control strategies through distributed logic.

The standard Node-HIU Switch connects to a maximum of eight HIUs, using the RS485 data connections to the HIUs, and connects to a LAN via Ethernet or WiFi.

Power is taken from either a standard mains plug, via a 5v plug-in power supply, or via Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE). The PoE option removes the need for any additional power supplies other than at the block entry level.
