If we were in charge....

  • Support open-source projects with a full time member of BEIS dedicated to caretaking of GitHub projects. Someone expert in Node.js and Javascript.
  • All heat networks must post all bulk heat, gas and electricity meter data to IPFS and index on PCDB database.
  • Support data storage by providing an IPFS pinning service and gateway for performance data.
  • Renationalise the Energy Saving Trust
  • Update pipework guidance - assist in short-circuiting current obstacles with fresh academic study into noise vs velocity in pipes (boring but very important)
  • Run a public leage table of the most efficient heat networks, with detail on how results are achieved. This is so that copy/paste consultants can start copying the best rather than the last.
  • Offer a prize to the most efficient heat networks over a full year of open monitoring.
